Delightful Wednesday – April Showers!

Hello there! I’m back again!!

Today it is my turn to post a Wednesday project on the Digital Delights blog and the theme Sandy and I chose for April is April Showers (water related designs).

So for my final April Showers creation I used the gorgeous Mermaid, Seahorse and Starfish that can be bought individually or as part of the fab Under the Sea Set

I do love mermaids and there does seem to be a few of them ‘floating’ (!) around blogland at the mo. I went all blue and green with the colouring to match my background which I made using Spectrum Noir AquaTints on watercolour card.
Ingredients:
Images: Mermaid , Seahorse and Starfish
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Jewel Flowers & Flourishes’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Ovals’ – Tattered Lace ‘Vines’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Watercolour card - Kraft
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils – Spectrum Noir AquaTints
Others: Acrylic drops – Liquid pearls

So swim over to the Digital Delights Blog where every day there is something to inspire you and don’t forget to visit the shop and ‘sea’ all of Wendy’s adorable designs!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a wonderful day!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 17: Clean and Simple!

Hello!  Hope everyone is well!

It’s Choosday so it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and our theme this week is Clean and Simple!  As always we have a fab prize on offer so check out the BLOG for details.

Now CAS is a style that I much admire in others but rarely attempt myself. As the spotlight is usually on colouring it makes me a little nervous.  So of course I made it easy on myself (!!) and chose to use the amazing OCTAVIA WISTFUL! Nice one, Jane! J

I hope you saw Nikky the other week on Create and Craft.  If you did you would have seen the amazing OCTAVIA MOONFLY COLLECTION which is available in the STORE as a Big Kahuna Bundle download! It has so many delicious papers and embellies but as CAS was the order of the day I didn't use any of them!! Humph! J
Ingredients:
Image & Sentiment: OCTAVIA MOONFLY COLLECTION
Dies: None!!
Card: Neenah Solar White & various from stash
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Ropy faux stitching!

So with fairy-like grace flutter over to the blog where you will see so much gorgeous inspiration from the DT, and while you’re there why not join us for this fab challenge.   And don’t forget to check out Nikky’s magical designs in the store!

Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely day!
See ya!

Hairdresser Ellie!

Hello there! I’m back again!

So today I am showcasing on The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge Blog !
Christine released some gorgeous new dolls on 12th April which you can see here and I have used one of those sweet girls called Hairdresser Ellie.
I chose this image as it very evocative for me.  My mum was a hairdresser for over 30 years! When I was growing up (still a work in progress) she had her own small salon at the front of our house so the smell of perm solution and setting lotion hold a lot of memories for me. Not necessarily all good you understand.  The 80’s will always be a decade my mop would rather forget!! J

Fairly light on adornment this one but I did find a sewing shears charm in amongst some embellies which I think passes as a pair of hairdressing scissors.  Best not try to trim your bob with them though!! J

Ingredients:
Card: Neenah Solar White – Kraft
Paper: LOTV ‘Beach Bliss’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Dies/Punches: Spellbinders ‘Timeless Rectangles
Others: Pearls –Twine – Ribbon – Scissors charm – Liquid Pearls – Faux Stitching

So hair (!) along to the blog and join in with our current challenge which is always Anything Goes and where you will find some stunning inspiration from the DT! There is always a fab prize on offer too and visit the shop to see all of Christine’s adorable rubber stamps!!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a wonderful day!
See ya!

Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 16: Spots and Dots!

Hello!  How are things? Well I hope!

It’s Choosday so it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and our theme this week is Spots and Dots!  As always we have a fab prize on offer so check out the BLOG for details.

Nikky released a brand new collection recently called WORK AND PLAY 10 – COUNTRY LIFE and I used this in my creation this week.
I decided to do a stepper card and use the adorable FOXY FRIEND from the collection that can be bought separately if you wish.  Now, be honest, wouldn’t you like a hat like that!
I went for a slightly over the top black and pink themed design and used white gel pen to add dots to her hat and boots.  I think I over blushed her cheeks though (well she is the healthy outdoor type)!

Ingredients:
Image: FOXY FRIEND
Image, Paper & Sentiments: WORK AND PLAY 10 – COUNTRY LIFE
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Whimsical Tree’ – Die’sire ‘Icicles’
Punches: Tonic ‘Butterfly’ – X-Cut ‘Mini Butterfly’ & ‘Mini Flower’
Card: Neenah Solar White
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils – white gel pen
Others: Gems

So ‘fox’ clever (!) and take a stroll through the countryside until you find the blog where you will see amazing inspiration from the DT, and while you’re there why not join us for this fab challenge.   And don’t forget to check out Nikky’s super cute designs on the new and improved (and very snazzy) website!

Delightful Wednesday – April Showers!

Hello there! I’m back again!!

Today it is my turn to post a Wednesday project on the Digital Delights blog and the theme Sandy and I chose for April is April Showers (water related designs).

So for my effort this week I cut a ‘porthole’ frame using my EK-Success Circle Scissor and made a little ‘pirate in peril’ scene.  Well shiver me timbers!!

I used the swashbuckling Pirate Mitzy and as you can see she’s been a very naughty girl and has to walk the plank!!  Just to keep her company I teamed her with the super cute Whale and Octopus too.

I know the Octopus appears to also be walking the plank, and it is not clear if he was naughty as well, but that smiley face seems to suggest he’s not that bothered either way!!

Ingredients:
Images: Pirate Mitzy , Whale and Octopus
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Grand Scalloped Circles’, ‘Inverted Scalloped Circles’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Ovals’ – Memory Box ‘Puffy Clouds’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Kanban - Kraft
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Wood effect embossing folder – Acrylic drops - Pearls

So splice the mainbrace and swash your buckle over to the Digital Delights Blog where you’ll find daily inspiration from the DT and don’t forget to visit the shop and sail away with some of Wendy’s adorable designs!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a wonderful day!
See ya!

Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 15: Pearls and Gems!

Hello!  Hope all is well with you and yours!

It’s Choosday so it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and our theme this week is Pearls and Gems!  As always we have a fab prize on offer so check out the BLOG for details.

I chose to use the beautiful Dollie Daydream – Belle of the Ball for my easel card.  Check out that fabulous hair and impossibly thin waist!!! Goodness, a Cadbury's Cream Egg has NEVER passed HER lips!!!

I went with a sort of Cinderella vibe although I took artistic license with the ‘glass’ slipper, but at least it matches her dress!

Ingredients:
Dies: Couture ‘Enchanted Escapes’ – Tattered Lace Clock
Card: Neenah Solar White
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Gems - Pearls

So grab your Prince Charming and waltz over to the blog where you will see so much gorgeous inspiration from the DT, and while you’re there why not join us for this fab challenge.   And don’t forget to check out Nikky’s swoon-worthy designs in the store but do it before midnight or you’ll turn into a pumpkin (or something like that!)!!

Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 14: Use at least one die!

Hello!  Hope everyone is well and happy!

It’s Choosday so it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and our theme this week is Use at Least One Die!  As always we have a fab prize on offer so check out the BLOG for details.

Well anyone who ever visits me knows that I do love my dies so this was not a difficult one for me.  I decided to use a brand new purchase of mine (Ooops!) my Tonic 'Deco Geometric' layering die set to create an ever decreasing aperture look.
My boss turns 60 soon so this card is for him using the wonderful WINSTON FULL COLLECTION! He is an avid fisherman so I chose to use WINSTON BEAR GONE FISHING! He also has a very bushy grey moustache (ex-Army, say no more) so I just had to add one.  Yes that grey thing on Winston’s nose is indeed a tash and can be found in the Personalities section of WORK AND PLAY 7!

I’m hoping that he recognises himself!

Ingredients:

Others: Thickers numbers - Twine - Fish charm

So cast your line over to THE BLOG where you will see all gorgeous inspiration from the talented DT and while you’re there why not join us for this fab challenge.   And don’t forget to fish around the STORE for more of Nikky’s amazing design! There is a fab NEW RELEASE you will not want to miss!

Delightful Wednesday – April Showers!

Hello there! I’m back again!!

Today it is my turn to post a Wednesday project on the Digital Delights blog and as it is now April (I know!) Sandy and I chose April Showers (water related designs) as our theme.

I used the adorable Surfing Jimmie to create a little beach scene and as you can see he is very sensibly avoiding the water due to the marauding shark!  Can’t you just hear the ‘Jaws’ music!! J

I made a very colourful beach umbrella for him to shelter under (he seems to be avoiding that as well!!) using a border die and a coffee stirrer.  I then propped the fab Fun in the Sun Sentiment up against it!

Ingredients:
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Inverted Scalloped Circles’ and ‘Scalloped Borders 2’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Various from stash
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Buttons – coffee stirrer
Hopeless hand drawings (making their long awaited comeback!!): Shark fin - sunglasses - seagulls(!)

So grab a board and surf on over to the Digital Delights Blog where there is fab inspiration for you every day and don’t forget to visit the shop to see Wendy’s adorable designs!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a wonderful day!
