Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Bingo!

Hello, how are things? Me again! Wow you can just reach out and touch the weekend can’t you, and a bank holiday weekend to boot! Thank goodness!

I’m here today to let you know that there is a new challenge starting over on the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge Blog and our theme this fortnight is Bingo, and here is the bingo card!
                                                    We are sponsored by

Who are offering a fabby prize!

As Christmas is a coming (yippee, my favourite time of year) I decided I had better get my finger out and make some festive cards! And here is my very first effort of the year! Hoorah!
I chose the middle row of the bingo card, Green, Bow, String, and used one of our sponsor’s images called Snow Capped Tree.  I printed it twice to go either side of my Paltry Paper-Pieced door, a mass of rough measurements and slightly dodgy cutting and embossing! Probably wouldn’t repel burglars methinks! J

I will admit to quite liking my wreath which I made by cutting up the Tattered Lace ‘Ornate Leaves’ dies and sticking them to a circular frame! And my coir (ok string) doormat!

Ingredients:
Dies: Tattered Lace ‘Ornate Leaves’
Punches: Tonic snowflake
Paper/Card: Neenah Desert Strom – Bazzill Bling
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir pencils
Others: Beads in a Bottle – Flowersoft – Stickles - string, crystal glitter, ribbon & gems from my stash – sentiment from Hunkydory (I think)
Hopeless Hand drawings & Paltry Paper Piecing: Everything, except the trees (and obviously they are the best thing!!)

I hope you will join us, who doesn’t love a bit of bingo. Look what my clever teamies have done on the blog and play along!

Thanks so much for looking and enjoy your day!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

I used the super cute Bookyworm on my card this time and decided to print him off twice (flipping the second image) to make him into a couple of bookends!
Of course as a pair of bookends he'd have to have books so I used the School Sentiment Set to create a little library to go on my kraft bookshelf!
I put ’82 on the ‘CLASS OF’ title as this was when the year I left school! No not 1882!! Flamin’ cheek! J

Ingredients:
Image: Bookyworm
Dies: None
Punches: None
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Kraft – Scrapperdashery ‘Rudyard Kipling – “If”’ 12x12

Cutie Pie Challenge – Buttons & Bows!

Hello, how are you keeping?

We have a brand new challenge at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog  today and our theme this fortnight is Buttons & Bows! Now we still seem to be getting quite a few non-cute entries which is a shame, but we are the Cutie Pies so we want you to use a CUTE image!

This time we are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons
and one lucky winner will win a fabulous prize!

For this challenge I made one of my favourite card shapes, a centre stepper, from Centura Pearl using a template from Norma’s blog here.
For a change, instead of sitting on a hopeless hand drawing of a toadstool, I thought I would have my fairy sitting on neatly die-cut clouds! Awwwwww!
Ingredients:
Sentiment: Digital Delights
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Cherry Blossom’- Memory Box ‘Puffy Clouds’
Punches: X-Cut Mini Butterfly
Paper/Card: Centura Pearl - Neenah Solar White – Dovecraft ‘Back to Basics IV’

Delightful Challenge Thursday – New Release – Anything Goes!

Hi there, it’s me again! Hope you are doing well!

Today there is a fab new challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog which coincides with a new release and our theme this week is everyone’s fav, Anything Goes! So make…. well anything!

We are sponsored by
who are offering a fabulous prize of a $10 store certificate!
Wendy’s amazing images for this release are inspired by J.M. Barries Peter Pan and I have used the super cute Mikey Love on my project.  I decided to make a rocker ‘cradle’ card, as you do! I have some fab shaped cards from Hunkydory that I am slowly making my way through and as soon as I saw little Mikey and his teddy I knew what my design would be. Love it when that happens!
The moon is made from cutting a circle then cutting it again with the same circle die to create the crescent. Easier to get myself a moon die methinks!! J

Ingredients:
Image: Mikey Love
Dies: SB ‘A2 Bracket Borders 1’ & ‘Lacy Ovals’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Circles’ & ‘Cocktail Glass’ (cherry on a stick used as the handle for the rattle) – Joanna Sheen Signature Die ‘Starburst’ (for the tiny stars on the ‘night light’)
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – LOTV ‘Petal Fresh’ – Hunkydory rocker card base – kraft –glitter paper
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils – ‘Black Soot’ & ‘Broken China’ DI
Others: Twine – brads – wood effect embossing folder
Puny Paper Piecing:  Bedside table – night light - rattle

Creative Blog Hop!

So I was invited to join the Creative Blog Hop that has been circulating blogland of late. I was tagged by the wonderful Larelynmy design teammate  from Digital Delights in a post here.  Apparently I have to answer some question to give a little insight into my crafting way of life! (Oh ‘eck!!)

So here goes….

What am I working on now?
I really only do DT work now which I have to say I love!  Just crafting for the heck of it doesn’t seem to happen anymore. Not that I am complaining I am blessed to be part of 3 fab teams consisting of very talented and generous ladies! I absolutely love it and there’s nothing more motivational than a deadline!!!

What do I create?
Cards, cards and more cards!! J They do seem to be my main focus as you can create so many different scenarios with them.  I do love the quirky (anyone who ever visits me will know that) and I believe cards give me almost free range to create what I will! Run for the hills everyone!!! J

How does your creative process work?
K …. I’m a walking light bulb moment really. I suddenly become inspired and then that’s it.  It is almost ‘create this thing or die trying’! Of course the image is the thing. I rarely create without an image, nearly always character based, and as this is my focal point it has to inspire me or I find myself on the road to no-card!!

How do I get and stay inspired?
I craft. It’s as simple as that. I live and breathe it. (I even dream about it. How sad is that!! ) It’s the physical process of making something that spurs me on to make more.  I strive to get better. My colouring is a work in progress (!) and I am constantly trying to make my rather crazy designs become reality. My ideas often exceed my rather limited ability but that’s half the fun isn’t it.  Gotta love me I’m a trier!! JJJ

I am, however endlessly inspired by others, too many to mention here so I will namecheck just three….

Sue. Designer extraordinaire who manages to create ‘spot on’ creations EVERY SINGLE TIME! (Humph!)

Coops. Amazing, wonderful designs that always blow me away!

Sam. Colourist supreme, whose innovative and gorgeous projects always inspire!

There are just sooooo many more I could mention but there is not the space here. But I must, of course, give a high five to all my DT sisters who I am honoured to craft alongside!

So that’s me. Plain and simple (yeah I know)!
Thanks so much for wading through the waffle, and enjoy your day!
See ya!

Colourful hugs
Jane xx
