Cutie Pie Challenge Blog – Dies & Punches!

Hello, how are things? Hope all is well with you and yours!

Today a brand new challenge starts over at the Cutie PieChallenge Blog and our theme this fortnight is Dies & Punches!  Simples!! (Squeak!)

This time we are sponsored by Stamp & Create with this prize on offer to one lucky winner

and one lucky winner will win 3 digis of their choice.

So what did I make?  Well the DT were lucky to be given a sponsors image to work with and I chose to use Doctor Autry available here

In my quest to bother you all with Hopeless Hand drawings I had the idea of adding a doctor’s bag, thermometer and bandage. Thankfully I found a handbag stamp that I added a red cross to and a cocktail olive die (that came with a cocktail glass) from Tonic to make the thermometer (It’s not a lollipop ‘case you’re wondering!). My Hopeless Hand drawings were limited to a bandage banner with safety pin instead! Huge sigh of relief!

Ingredients:
Stamps: ‘Dr Autry’ digi A Random Fan – Kanban handbag – Kanban sentiment
Dies/Punches:  Tonic Circle and scallop circle – Spellbinders ‘Picot Edge Circle’ & ‘Curved Borders 2’ – Tattered Lace corners – Tonic cocktail glass (olive stick used as thermometer!!) – Tonic flower punch
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White - American Crafts – Wild Rose Studio ‘Antique Library’ 6x6 pad
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir Markers
Others: Silky Crush Ribbon
Hopeless Hand drawings: Bandage sentiment banner!

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog  to see the gorgeous makes my teamies have created to inspire you and play along.  And please, please, please make it cute!! :D

 Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

My card today features a Mayzy Art image called Shawna with Latte and she is available here
Such a fabulous image and so much fun to work with.

MilkCoffee Showcase – Ribbon & Lace

Hello, it is showcase day at MilkCoffee and the theme this time is Ribbon & Lace!

I chose to use one of the new images called Lisbeth Plays with Sailboat Toys and she is available here.

Now my crazy ideas of late keep coming thick and fast and as soon as I saw Lisbeth splashing around in the sea I thought I would have to put her in a scene. And of course it would be a beach sea with lace for the sand. Obvious really!!??!!

Now I have had a large piece of lace in my possession for well over 20 years.  And it was, believe it or not, sold to me on my doorstep by a traveller lady who proceeded to read my palm. I kid you not!! (I won’t tell you what she said. Suffice it to say her predictions were very promising and highly unlikely!!) Anyway I never thought I would have any use for it until it actually fell out of the cupboard while I was looking for something else. So it became a beach. Bet she couldn’t have predicted that future!!

Ingredients:
Stamps: MilkCoffee digi ‘Lisbeth Plays with Sailboat Toys’ – Sunhat and sunglasses from DoCrafts (very, very old but very, very useful)
Dies:  Spellbinders ‘Inverted Scallop Circles’ & ‘Flourish Accents’ - Memory Box ‘Puffy Clouds’
Paper/Card: LOTV ‘Beach Bliss’ (aptly)
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers and pencils
Others: Shells (from the very generous blog candy I won from the lovely Sammy, thank you) – Martha Stewart cupcake mould (ice-cream top) – cocktail stick (flakes in ice cream) - Lace and ribbon from stash
Hopeless Hand drawings: Clouds & ‘V’ birds – ice cream cone - flip-flops and beach towel

Check out all the amazing designs by my teamies here and visit the MilkCoffeeshop to see all the super cute images they have.  And don’t forget to join in the current challenge on the challenge blog  which is More than One Flower.

Cute One for Mum at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog

Hello, how’s things?! Hope all the UK bods have been able to enjoy this nice dry weather we are having right now.  Long may it reign (please note spelling of reign!!)!

Today we begin a brand new challenge over at the Cutie PieChallenge Blog and our theme this fortnight is A Cute One for Mum!  Well, I have to make four for my mum. Not that she’s greedy or anything it’s just one for myself and one each for my three brothers! They are not likely to make their own ………… (Sorry, just giggling at the thought of that!)

This time the cuties are lucky to have 2 wonderful sponsors.
The first is BugabooStamps

and one lucky winner will win 7 digis from their amazing range. Wow!

where one lucky sausage will win £10 to spend in their fabby online store. Double wow!

Now if that’s not a massive incentive to join in I don’t know what is!

So, being on the ball this year I have already made all my Mother’s Day cards! (Get me!) Therefore I had a chance to do one JFF.  Which is a good job as the Bugaboo image I chose to use, called Girl and Flowers available here, is quite funky and my amazing mother may be many gloriously wonderful things, but funky isn’t one of them!

To fully embrace the funky theme I plumped for a non-trad hair colour! And as purple is my fav colour that was the way I went using my Promarkers on super smooth card.

Ingredients:
Dies:  Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 & Bracket Borders 1 (my fav!) – Tattered lace borders – Tonic Vines
Paper/Card: American Crafts – Super Smooth – LOTV & NitWit ‘Promises’
Colouring/Ink: Promarkers – Dusty Concord DI
Others: Tonic flower punch – Martha Stewart Mould and air dry clay – flat backed pearls – liquid pearls – sentiment free with a mag

So there you go a potty plethora of perfect purpleliciousness! (Hmmmmmmm!) J J

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog to see the inspirational makes created by my teamies and join in with our fab challenge.  But please, please, please make it cute. The awwwwww-factor is definitely a requirement.

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Colour Inspiration

Hello, how are things?

Note: This post did appear briefly last Friday but unfortunately due to technical difficulties the challenge could not go live until today. Technology! Don’t you just love it!! L

So I’m here today (finally) with my DT card for the new challenge starting over on the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards blog and our theme this time is a gorgeous Colour Inspiration.  Not too tough for me as this is my favourite colour palette. I am a bit of a purple girl it has to be said.

We are sponsored this time by the amazing A DayFor Daises who have the most remarkable, ethereal images you could possibly imagine which you can check out here

Each of the DT was blessed to be able to choose their own image to work with and after quite a while I managed to whittle it down to around 20! However I finally chose to use Braid in my Hair
available here. I think she is simply stunning! I hope I have been able to do her justice.

The photo seems to make the purples look a bit blue I'm afraid!
I printed my image onto super smooth card, coloured with Promarkers, and then cut her out using Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels 4.  I added a liberal sprinkling of lilac Frantage and cut some small flowers and foliage with dies from Tattered Lace.  I tied an organza ribbon bow and added some flat backed pearls from my stash.

Please come and join us over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards here it is a fab challenge.  And while you’re there you won’t fail to be inspired by all the awesome cards created by my team mates!

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

Colourful hugs!

MilkCoffee Showcase – Stitching: Real or Faux

Hi!  Hope this finds you well and happy! Loving this spring like weather we are enjoying in my part of the UK.  So nice to see the sun shine!

Well here I am with my DT post for the MilkCoffee Showcase and the showcase theme today is Stitching: Real or Faux.

Now I always admire stitching on cards and marvel at those who do it.   Last year I won a sewing machine through Creativity magazine and the poor thing has never seen the light of day!  Well I thought I would change that and branch out into unknown territory.  However, as I was unable to find the power cable or the pedal (put somewhere safe of course) that put pay to that!  Saved in the final hour some might say.  I couldn't possibly comment!

So here is my creation for the showcase and it is rather a crazy affair I have to say. The fabulous image is Tiffany in Wonderland and I went all ‘Lewis Carroll’ on the poor girl!

The papers are Antique Library from Wild Rose Studio which I got from My Mum’s Craft Shop here and the clock die is by Tattered Lace.  I love this die it is so quirky (bit like me) and I felt the need to draw a crackle effect on the face for an aged look.

I was going to incorporate a ‘Drink Me’ bottle into the design but plumped for a cup and teapot instead, well I had some stamps that were suitable!  I also wanted a Mad Hatter top hat on there somewhere too (I just want everything) but as I lucked out with that one I had to draw my own. This may explain why it’s a bit wonky.  All the images are coloured with my fab Spectrum Noir pencils which I am loving!

The playing cards are from a Christmas cracker (yes, really) and the hearts were cut using a Papermania Palm Punch.

So to the actual theme of the showcase; I used hand stitching down the spine of my ‘book’ and faux doodle stitching around the paper edges.  See, I managed to get it in there somewhere!

Check out all the amazing creations by the showcase team here and visit the MilkCoffee shop to see all the gorgeous images available.  And don’t forget to join in the current challenge on the challenge blog which is Emboss It! Wet or Dry!

Going all Pearly Swirly at the Cutie Pie Challenge!

Hey, hope all is well with you and yours.  Well personally I am feeling a little vintage today. Why you ask? Well yesterday I was officially one year away from half a century on this planet. Half a century! Shouldn’t I get a letter from the Queen or something?  Do you think she will make me a card?  Hmmmmmmmmm. Perhaps not.

Any road up, today, apart from the rapid onset of old age, I would like to share my DT card for the CutiePie challenge this fortnight and our theme is: Pearls & Swirls! Yummy!

We are sponsored by

And one lucky winner will win a $10 gift voucher to spend on their gorgeous and adorable digis in their online store

I chose to use a Bildmalarna stamp this time called Little Winged Friends Together which I bought from TheStamp Basket.  I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and paper-pieced her dress (although that’s not particularly obvious).

The base card is Centura Pearl, cut using Spellbinders Grand Labels One, coloured with PanPastels then embossed. And the swirls are from Tonic and the butterflies are cut using an X-Cut punch.

I added liquid pearls all over the place and sat a metal butterfly charm on top of my Silky Crush bow.  The sentiment is from Kanban.

So there you are. Please scoot over to the Cutie Pie blog  check out all the DT loveliness and join in with all the pearly swirly fun, oh and don’t forget to make it cute!!

Thanks so much for looking.
See ya!

Ladybug Crafts Challenge – Anything Goes!

Hello, how are you keeping?

As it is the first day of the month I am here to show my DT creation for the March Ladybug Crafts challenge, and the theme this time is Anything Goes. Everyone’s favourite!

As it was my mum’s birthday this week I thought I would decorate a gift bag for her.

The paper is from an old Kanban kit, and the image is the uber gorgeous Rosie by Mi Ran available here Mi Ran has some amazing designs in her shop  and you must check them out! I coloured Rosie with Spectrum Noir markers and pencils and cut her out using Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares, cutting another in black to mat behind.

To match the netting on her hat I coloured some Spider Web with black StazOn, added feathers and black pearl topped hat pins and some roses made from Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms.

The tag is made using a Kanban sentiment and more of the paper. The ribbon was some I cut out of a black cardigan. You know the ones that are supposed to help keep the item on the hanger but ends up creeping out to be on display for all the world to see. Needless to say it got the chop! Better on a project I thought.

So now it’s your turn, and we all love Anything Goes!  Scoot over to the Ladybug Crafts challenge to join in and check out the amazing DT inspiration.

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!
