Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Embossing!

Hello, how are things in the world of you and yours?  Well I hope!

A new challenge starts today over on the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards challenge blog and our theme this fortnight is Embossing!

So the Choccies had some fab images to work with from our wonderful sponsor this time
I chose to use the fabulously cute Kidz Girl – Cat available here

Now I don’t do enough embossing (heaven knows I have enough embossing folders!!) and I have never done a White on White card before!  So this was a good time to right those wrongs!! OK so my card is not entirely WoW as I coloured my image but I got a tad carried away with embossing onto Centura Pearl as it always looks so fab!

Ingredients:
Dies:  Sue Wilson ‘Classic 3D Bow’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Rectangles’
Embossing Folders: Couture Creations borders (can’t remember the name) – Sizzix ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment – Embossalicious ‘Petite Dot’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Centura Pearl (gotta love it!)
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers and pencils
Others: Nothing else, that was it, all finished, all done, The End!

I hope you will join us for our great challenge. Check out the blog for all the wonderful DT inspiration and the fab prize we have up for grabs!!

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

We were fortunate to get to choose an image from their fab collection to work with and I chose Lady Bird & Butterfly available here.

A Little LOTV Fairy Grotto!

Hello! How are things!

Wow what an amazing spell of weather we are enjoying in the UK! Love it!  Hope it’s good where you are!

Today I wanted to share a card I made to join in with the current LOTV Monthly Challenge which is Fairies!

Now the gorgeous stamps I have used have been retired which is a great shame as I think they are stunning! But because they will no longer be available I managed to snag them for a super bargain price! J

So what did I do? Well my idea (heaven help me) was to create a fairy grotto! Hmmmm, not too sure I managed it! Maybe it’s more Fairy Grotty, I hope not!!! Either way I wanted to use all three of these fabulous fairies so this is what I came up with!

I coloured onto Desert Storm card stock with Spectrum Noir pencils and blending solution! It may not be too obvious (curse my dodgy photography) but I cut each of the fairies an extra pair of wings from acetate and glittered the edges!

Ingredients:
Stamps: ‘Destiny’s Moon’, ‘Autumn Calling’ & ‘Candlelight’ from LOTV
Dies: Tonic frame from ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment set
Punches:  Tonic ‘Petal Pairs’ – Martha Stewart ‘Large Leaf Branch’
Paper/Card: LOTV ‘Country Lady’ – Kanban gold sheen – Crafters Companion ‘Desert Strom’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir Pencils – Blending Solution
Others: LOTV sentiment - Crystal glitter - Stickles - Glitter gems & stones from stash

Thanks so much for looking and have a great evening!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Use a Tag!

Hello, how are things in the world of you?

I’m back as there is a new challenge starting over at Chocolate,Coffee and Cards today and our theme is Use a Tag!

Our sponsor this time is
I used their cute hedgehog image called Hedgie with Flowers, available here.

I have to say that I love digis. They are so versatile and I love how you can manipulate and re-size them to fit your project! I did struggle a bit with this card though as the old mojo is still absent!  It sent me a postcard from the Algarve; having a lovely time apparently!! L

The idea was simple really! The enlarged image would have a tag on the flowers and on that tag there would be a smaller version of the image, and on that one there would be yet another tag with an even smaller version of the image!! Phew! (I hope that makes sense, if it does could you please explain it to me!!) It was going to get smaller and smaller but with my eyesight I would have needed the telescope from Jodrell Bank to see it so that put paid to that!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Sentiment free from a mag
Dies:  Tonic ‘Nesting Rectangles’- Tattered Lace ‘Mini Blooms’ – Sue Wilson ‘Fern Trio’ – X-Cut ‘Mini Butterfly’ Palm Punch
Paper/Card: LOTV ‘Bonnets & Bowties’ patterned and ‘Solids’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir Markers & Pencils – ‘Peacock Feathers’ & ‘Picked Raspberry’ DI
Others: Twine, gems and eyelets from stash
Hopeless Hand drawings: Faux stitching

I hope you can join us this time, and to inspire you the DT have made some wonderful creations, so check them out here and play along!

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

MilkCoffee Showcase – Shabby Chic or Vintage

Hello, how’s things?

I’m here to show my DT card for the new MilkCoffee Showcase  and our theme is Shabby Chic or Vintage.

Now I have to admit that this is not a style I’ve readily embraced so you’ll have to forgive the rather ‘rough and ready’ not-too-sure-what-I-was-doing design!

Now my mojo has all but mo-gone at the moment; I believe it took its passport so I may be in trouble!! Still I managed to create something that I don’t hate and it is all thanks to the wonderfully elegant Tiffany Playing Violin (love her) available here I think she is perfect for a vintage theme with her violin and gorgeous gown (and her ridiculously tiny waist – I bet she’s never had a Big Mac!) J

.......bet she's never had a Magnum either!
Love, love, love Halo Glitter!
Ingredients:
Stamps: Music script by Kanban – scroll and sentiment by Katy Sue Designs
Dies: Tattered Lace foliage
Paper/Card: LOTV ‘Antebellum’ & ‘Pressed in Time’ – Kraft - vellum
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers and pencils – ‘Vintage Photo’ DI
Others: Gold Fran-tage & Halo Glitter – Paper roses, pearl flowers and flat-backed pearls from The Hobby House – wooden bird from stash

Check out all the amazing designs by my talented team mates here and visit the MilkCoffee shop to ogle at all their gorgeous images.  And don’t forget to join in the current challenge on the challenge blog which is Mother’s Day/For a Special Lady

Thanks so much for looking and always leaving such lovely comments! You sure know how to boost a girl’s confidence!
See ya!

Cutie Pie Challenge Blog – Bring on the Bling! (Don’t mind if I do!)

Hello, hope you and yours are well?

Now who doesn’t love a bit of blingage? I’m a bit of a magpie myself and love anything glittery and shiny! Diamonds being a particular favourite of course!! J

So, to satisfy the gem addict in all of us the new challenge over at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog this fortnight is Bring on the Bling!

This time we are sponsored by Pink Gem Designs
We were very fortunate to be able to pick an image from their amazing range to work with and I chose the gorgeous Fairy Grace available here
I was asked by a colleague to make a card for her fairy mad, pink obsessed, glitter fanatic 6 year old daughter so I thought Fairy Grace was the perfect image.  Now this sweet little lady is sitting crossed legged and as all good fairy aficionados know fairies tend to sit on toadstools. Problem! No toadstool stamps! Cue hopeless hand drawing! Oh ‘eck! Hopefully I remembered to rub out all the pencil lines!

I embossed the Centura Pearl background then inked randomly (I am a bit random) with Distress Inks.  I used one of my all time fav colour combos, pink & blue, but the pink is a lot brighter IRL. The Bright Pink Spectrum Noir markers totally live up to their name!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Pink Gem Fairy Grace - sentiment (threw away the packaging so can't remember)
Dies/Punches:  Tonic ‘Nesting Ovals’ - X-Cut mini butterfly Palm Punch & corner rounder– SB Die D-Lites ‘Flower Border’- WRMK corner 'Chomper'
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White - Centura Pearl – American crafts
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir Markers – ‘Peacock Feathers’ & ‘Picked Raspberry’ DI
Others: 'Crystal' Stickles – WOW 'Metallic Silver Sparkle' embossing powder - Gems from my stash
Hopeless Hand drawings: Toadstool!!

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog to see the amazing shiny creations made by my teamies.

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

Colourful hugs

Ladybug Crafts Challenge – Favourite Embellishments

Hello, hope all is well with you and yours?

Good grief, 2nd May already! So it’s an “Ooops!” from me as time just got away from me so I’m a day late with my post for the new challenge at Ladybug Crafts, how rubbish am I!! (Don’t answer that!) Any road up tardiness aside the Ladybug Crafts challenge for May has started and the theme this month is Favourite Embellishments!

Difficult to narrow down I grant you but it was pretty easy for me. I love, love, love my die-cut and punched flowers! If you stand still long enough I’ll glue a die-cut flower to you so watch out!

For my stepper card I chose to use the beautifully ethereal Ceridwen from Mi Ran available here  I just love her gorgeous images!  I started to colour Ceridwen’s hair black then realised I wanted her to have a few aqua streaks but it was a bit late so she has a few random ones scattered here and there! I’d sue the hairdresser myself!! J

Ingredients:
Dies:  Tonic nesting rectangles & swirl– Tattered Lace ‘Beautiful Blooms’ & ‘Mini Blooms – Tonic flower punch – MS ‘Leaf Branch’ large punch – X-Cut butterfly mini palm punch
Paper/Card: LOTV ‘Beach Bliss’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Liquid Pearls – gems from stash – Kanban die-cut sentiment

I finally(it took some time) chose to use the wonderful Martini Nikki!   Love her!  Isn’t she just faaaabulous daaaarling!!
