MilkCoffee Showcase – Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas one and all. Here in the UK it is Boxing Day which usually means turkey sandwiches for dinner and a lot of clearing up. I had my family over which meant there were eight mouths to feed not including three very excitable dogs! Phew!

Anyway before I roll up my sleeves and start getting things back to some kind of normality I need to let you know that it is showcase day over on the MilkCoffee Blog  and our theme this time is Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

So my card today features the ever glamorous Tiffany and she is dressed to party with a festive glass of champagne in her hand.  She is a new image from MilkCoffee and isn’t she gorgeous.

Can't really see the glitter here but it is on her dress and necklace too!

I coloured her,for only the second time in my life, with Distress Inks and added glitter ‘fireworks’ for a New Year party feel.

The flowers are Spellbinders Bity Blossoms and Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch and the vine leaves and cocktail glass are from Tonic.

Please pop over to the MilkCoffeechallenge blog to see all the amazing creations by my fellow team mates.  And to the shop to check out all the gorgeous images.

Hope you are having a very happy Christmas and that the New Year brings you all you could wish for! And a special payer goes out to all in the UK effected by the severe weather we are experiencing at the moment.  My heart goes out to you.

See ya!

Only Snowmen Allowed at the Cutie Pie Challenge!

Hello, it’s me again. Hopefully with Miss Mojo back from her hols now!

Today I would like to share my DT card for the Cutie Pie challenge this fortnight and our theme is Only Snowmen Allowed! So dig out those cute snowman images and play along.

This time we are sponsored by the wonderful Di’s Digi Downloads.

And one lucky winner will win some adorable digi stamps from their online store here.

So for my snowman creation I chose to use an image that came with a magazine CD. I coloured these guys with Promarkers and cut them and the base out using Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels 4.

The sentiment is from Crafter’s Companion and I thought was rather appropriate for the image.

The wooden snowflake was a magazine freebie that, due to me being more than a little heavy handed getting it off the carrier sheet, broke! So after sticking it together I covered it with Stampendous Chunky White powder and Silver Halo Glitter.

Clear dewdrop gems and a dotty bow finish things off.

Check out the Cutie blog for stunning snowman creations from my team mates and have a jolly snowman time with us!

See ya!

MilkCoffee Showcase – Red and Green Must Not Be Seen

Hello there and how are you doing?

I am here to let you know that it is showcase day over on the MilkCoffee Blog
And our theme this time is Red and Green Must Not Be Seen (so no red and green on your creations please). This was good for me as I prefer purples and blues and silvers for my Christmas cards rather than the traditional colours.

So how did I interpret the theme? Well…….…you know when you have a design in your head and it all looks fab and you just know it’s going to be great, and then when you begin putting it together it all goes a bit Pete Tong?  Well I’m afraid this card is a case in point. If it was part of my school report it would definitely be marked as ‘Could do better!’

I chose to use the super sweet Lisbeth and Winter Matches available here and failed to do her justice.  She is such a cutie and of course reminds me of the achingly sad story of The Little Match Girl (sniffing noisily as we speak). I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs (quite badly as it happens, poor love, but I blame bad light and migraines. Well I’ve got to blame something!)

So the idea was pretty simple really. Christmas tree with baubles! Go Jane!

To create the background (my Christmas tree) I used a branch stamp by Chloe, stamping several times down the card then heat embossed with silver sparkle WOW powder (love, love, love this stuff).

I cut Lisbeth and my sentiment out using Spellbinders ornament dies and inked the edges to give them as little dimension.  I got some free stamps with a mag the other month that match the SB ornament dies so I used some of those as well.

So I stuck them on; I stood back and …… oh. Ok, don’t panic. What can I do to rescue it?

So my ‘rescue package’ consisted of silver bows, liquid pearls and glitter domes.  However, I think the ‘rescue’ failed to save the patient!

I blame the Bee Gee’s quite frankly. What? The Bee Gees? Yes the blumin’ Bee Gees.  They have been my almost constant mojo motivator since I started this blogging adventure! (“You should be daaaaaaciiiiin’ Yeah!”)  And I don’t seem to be able to craft without them. Grrrrr!  But I turned my back on them to listen to Christmas tunes! (So my fault really!) I’m sorry Slade and Wizard, you just don’t quite cut it!  Saturday Night Fever here I come.

Any road up please pop over to the MilkCoffee challenge blog to see all the amazing creations by my fellow team mates.  They have excelled themselves (as always) with the gorgeous MilkCoffee images while I am currently sitting in the naughty corner!

See ya!

Cutie Pie Challenge – For a Special Friend

Hello, hope you are well?

Today we have a brand new challenge over at the Cutie PieChallenge Blog  and our theme this fortnight is ‘For a Special Friend’. Awwwwww!

This week we are sponsored by the wonderful CraftyRibbons

and one lucky winner will win a voucher to spend in their gorgeous online store.

So what did I do? Well I recently bought some shaped cards and thought I would use one of those.  I chose a shadow box type card as I really admired the one recently made by Sue Bearhouse that you can see here.  (Considerably superior to mine but I gave it a shot!)

The image is LOTV called Me and My Cat which is available here  and I coloured using my Promarkers and fussy cut her out so that she would sit outside the frame.

I embossed the card with an Embossalicious folder and coloured it with Pan Pastel. The vine dies are Marianne Creatables and the tree is a Spellbinders Die D-Lite.

I made the flowers using an X-Cut punch and accented the whole thing with pearls and a bow.

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog to see the amazing inspiration created by my teamies and get creating that card for your someone special.

See ya!

Ladybug Crafts Challenge – Christmas/Winter

Hello, how are you keeping?

Today I am here to show a card I made for the current monthly challenge starting today over on the Ladybug Crafts blog and the challenge is….. Wait for it……Christmas/Winter! Yay!

I was asked to join the Ladybug team a little while ago and of course I said yes.  No flies on me you know!

So here I am, doing my best to inspire you!

My card is quite CAS (I absolutely love this style but never seem to try it too often, why? no idea!) and I have used an adorable stamp from LOTV called Trimming the Tree available here I coloured the little people and their adorable doggie in greyscale and added colour to the tree and decorations only.  I really enjoy colouring in this way.  It’s a good way of teaching yourself about shadows and depth. I’m learning slowly (I would describe it as a snail’s pace) but loving every minute of it.

The sentiment is also LOTV and I drew a bauble underneath, why? no clue. I used just a few gold glitter domes and a touch of gold Stickles (this is CAS after all) to embellish and there you go, all done.

Pop on over to the Ladybug blog and join in the fun and see all the wonderful inspiration from the design team.

See ya!
